GET THE POLITICIANS OUT OF REAPPORTIONMENT!

It’s reapportionment time in Louisiana. By federal law, every state has to reapportion its various political districts once every 10 years. That means the legislature, congressional districts, judicial districts, and the public service commission that is unique to Louisiana. So who does the reapportionment? Who decides what voters to pick? Did you know that legislators are allowed to carve out their own districts? That’s about as political as you can get. I talk about it in this week’s column.
